Have you ever wondered why Venetians wore masks for more than six months a year? Or how real Venetian masks are made? And how come that not even the plague could stop the Carnival?
Step into the magic of Venetian Carnival Traditions, Masks and the Art of Mask-Making and join us in our workshop for an immersive journey into the lost traditions of Venetian Carnival and the ancient art of mask-making.

"GIACOMO CASANOVA: A VENETIAN WITNESS TO HIS TIME" (in Italian)
Libertine, gambler, scientist, writer—Giacomo Casanova was all this and more. Born in Venice, he travelled through the great cities and courts of 18th-century Europe, leaving behind an extraordinary account of his time.
Historian Giovanni Della Mora will take you through the most fascinating chapters of Casanova’s adventurous life—from his rebellious youth to his final years, which coincided with the fall of the centuries-old Republic of Venice.
Following the talk, themaster artisans of Ca’ Macanawill give a live demonstration of the traditional techniques used to create authenticVenetian masks.
